Our Story

Hi, I’m Reece L, the owner of Houston Fence Staining.

I started my first service business in Katy, Tx when I was 15 years old. Initially I was mowing lawns, laying down mulch, pressure washing, and installing Christmas lights to help save up for my first car. Then in 2016, I shifted my focus to fence restoration and launched Katy Fence Staining. Back then, I was cleaning fences one day and coming back the next with a handheld sprayer, all with basic homeowner grade tools.

Over time, I refined the process to get better results. I tested different stain products, upgraded to a professional grade airless paint sprayer, and optimized our cleaning process to effectively and safely clean fences without damaging the wood. What started as a small operation eventually grew through word of mouth, repeat customers, and partnerships with local fence builders. I even handled a few large-scale HOA projects in neighborhoods like Pine Mill Ranch and small communities in Rice Military.

While running the business, I earned my engineering degree from the University of Houston. After graduating, I temporarily stepped away from fence staining and passed the business down to one of my younger sisters, who had been helping me with the business for years. I stayed involved as a mentor while she took the reins and gained hands-on experience managing the work.

Now that I’m back in Houston, I’ve started a new chapter with Houston Fence Staining. I bring the same tools, experience, process, and work ethic that helped me complete over 500 fence staining jobs the first time around. My focus is on delivering clean, professional results with attention to detail and clear communication every step of the way.
